In the third quarter, electric car sales in EU countries increased by 56,7 percent to 212 thousand 582, plug-in hybrid sales increased by 42,6 percent to 197 thousand 300, and hybrid sales increased by 31,5% to 449 thousand 506.

In the European Union (EU), the share of electric and various hybrid cars in the total market reached 39,6 percent in the third quarter of this year.

The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) has published new automobile sales data in EU countries in the third quarter of 2021 by fuel types.

Accordingly, 39,5 percent of the cars sold in EU countries in the said period were gasoline, 20,7 percent hybrid, 17,6 percent diesel, 9,8 percent all-electric (BEV), 9,1 percent. 'i plug-in hybrid (PHEV), 2,9 percent other and 0,4 percent natural gas.

Compared to the same period of the previous year, sales of electric cars increased by 56,7 percent to 212 thousand 582, plug-in hybrids increased by 42,6 percent to 197 thousand 300, hybrid sales increased by 31,5 percent to 449 thousand 506, other alternative fuel vehicle sales increased by 28,1 percent. It reached 62 thousand 574 units.

Natural gas automobile sales decreased by 48,8 percent to 8 thousand 311, gasoline automobile sales decreased by 35,1 percent to 855 thousand 476 and diesel by 50,5% to 381 thousand 473.

Thus, in the said period, the total sales of electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid cars reached 859. The share of electric and various hybrid cars in the total market increased to 388 percent, surpassing other fuel types.
