Airbus will begin delivering all aircraft with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from its US Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama later this year. This is one of Airbus' steps towards fulfilling its promise of carbon-neutral growth in the aviation industry.

Airbus has engaged Signature Flight Support to supply SAF to its facility in Mobile. By November 2021, all aircraft to be delivered to customers will be powered by a mix of SAF and conventional jet fuel. Signature Flight Support is partnering with World Energy to provide US-sourced SAF to Airbus.

Airbus Americas Inc. Jeff Knittel, Chairman and CEO, said, “Delivering our aircraft manufactured at the Mobile facility with SAF is an important step towards solving the carbon problem. SAF contributes positively to increasing sustainability in aviation, as it reduces CO2 by up to 80% over the life of the fuel. We are committed to making sustainable fuels a reality of today, by using them on an increasingly large scale, and this step is further proof of that.

Airbus delivers both A220 and A320 Family aircraft to US-based customers from its US Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama. The company has delivered more than 2016 Airbus aircraft from its Mobile facility since 260, with 54 of them in 2021 alone.
