The projects, which have been implemented as a continuation of the agricultural mobilization started, continue to make the farmers smile. 15 of the 5 agricultural irrigation ponds within the IMM have been switched to the closed circuit irrigation system.

İBB President İmamoğlu, who attended the Harvest Festival held in Silivri, drew attention to the expansion of agricultural production areas thanks to the 'Closed Circuit Irrigation System'. The area irrigated by the system, which provides significant labor and cost savings in agricultural production as well as the efficient use of water, has increased from one thousand decares to 13 thousand decares. Stating that they have completed the transition of the ponds on the Anatolian Side to the new system, İBB Agriculture and Fisheries Manager Naki Çetin said, "We are rapidly continuing our work for the European Side."

AGRICULTURAL AREAS WILL BE INCREASED

Naki Çetin, who said that only open irrigation has been done from the irrigation ponds within the body of İBB, and that this has caused many negativities as well as water wastage, drew attention to the fact that switching to the 'Closed Irrigation System' is a very important step in agricultural production. Stating that with this system, in addition to the efficient use of water, the burden of labor and cost will also decrease, Çetin said, "This way, even in the driest period, the farmer will have no fear of field irrigation." Çetin added that with the new system, rapid growth has been experienced in agricultural areas, and the agricultural irrigated area has already increased from one thousand decares to 13 thousand decares.

SOIL PRODUCTION WILL INCREASED

Stating that the closed circuit irrigation system can carry water to farther places compared to the open irrigation system, Çetin emphasized that the lands on which agricultural production will be made will increase day by day. The farmer, who can easily irrigate his land with a closed system, will be able to grow his products either by drip irrigation or by sprinkling. By using the water in the desired shape and as needed, the production area will increase efficiency. Weed growth will be reduced in areas where point irrigation is applied, and water loss in water transport or natural ways will be prevented. Naki Çetin, who said that they received a very positive response from the farmer regarding the system, which thus buried the water fights in the past, explained that the works for the irrigation ponds on the European side are continuing intensively.
