The Unmanned Underwater Systems competition, organized by ASELSAN as part of the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology festival, aims to produce and develop underwater vehicles designed by young people that can perform remotely controlled or autonomous missions. Among the 371 teams that applied to the competition attended by high school, university and doctoral students, 56 teams that were entitled to participate in the competition are fighting for the championship. The struggle of underwater robots, which can perform various multi-functional tasks autonomously with artificial intelligence, will continue until 19 September at ITU Olympic Swimming Pool.
Youth Determines the Future of the Underwater World…
Today, underwater research is gaining importance in civil and military applications, especially in order to protect and examine natural resources and to ensure national security. Based on these needs, the Unmanned Underwater Systems Competition leads the development of unique vehicles for the production of autonomous underwater vehicles in our country. Underwater robots that ensure that points such as pressure, field of view and communication are carried out under more suitable conditions while performing their duties under the sea; plays a huge role in making the bottom of our seas a controllable place. Underwater vehicles, which are used in many submarine activities such as search and rescue, sea cleaning, seabed tests and analyzes, show that they already have a significant place in the robotic technologies of the future.
In the competition, where scoring and evaluation are carried out differently in each category, the first prize will be worth 35 thousand TL, the second prize will be 25 thousand TL, and the third prize will be 15 thousand TL for the teams ranking in the Basic Category. In the Advanced Category, the first prize will be 50 thousand TL, the second prize will be 40 thousand TL, and the third prize will be 30 thousand TL. The teams that aim to complete their duties undertaken in the competition area and the business plans in the area in the best way will be the winners of the Best Team Award. The Most Original Design Award will be given to the teams by considering the criteria of conformity to design conditions, originality and evaluation according to underwater and all sub-systems. Domestic and original products compatible with the latest high technology will win the Most Original Software Award. The winning teams will receive their awards at TEKNOFEST, which will be held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport between September 21-26. Young people who have ideas, projects and produce in line with the goals of the National Technology Move will come together again this year at TEKNOFEST, the center of enthusiasm and excitement.
