TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team continued its leadership by taking the podium after a close struggle in Belgium Ypres Rally. In the rally stages, which also included the legendary Spa-Francorchamps Circuit, the young driver of the team, Kalle Rovanperä, took the podium in third place.

In the Ypres Rally, which was held for the first time as a part of the FIA ​​World Rally Championship, there was a close struggle between all the drivers. Following Rovanperä, teammates Elfyn Evans took fourth place and Sébastien Ogier fifth.

In the rally, where the winding roads of the Ardennes region and the Spa Track were combined, Rovanperä finished the race 6.5 seconds ahead of Evans on the podium. However, in the power stage, Ogier had the second best time; Rovanperä had the fourth best time and Evans the fifth best. Thus, they brought extra points to the team.

With these results, Ogier continued to lead the Drivers' Championship with 162 points, while Evans took second place with 124 points. TOYOTA GAZOO Racing also maintained its first place in the Constructors' Championship with a margin of 41 points.

Evaluating the race, team captain Jari-Matti Latvala stated that there was a close struggle between the drivers and said, “As a result, Rovanperä completed the rally on the podium with its great pace. All of our drivers did a good job over the weekend and we managed to collect important points for the championship.” said.

Kalle Rovanperä, who completed the rally on the podium, stated that she enjoyed the close fight and was pleased with the result.
