Diaspora International Short Film Festival, which is preparing to bring cinema lovers together at Atlas Cinema between 27-29 August, will bring different perspectives to diaspora cinema accompanied by professionals with its physical interviews.

The first talk within the scope of the Diaspora International Short Film Festival will be held on Friday, August 27 at 16.00, with the participation of Cinematographer Rıza Oylum, Director and Actress Haluk Piyes and Director Maryna Er Gorbach on Don't Go, Stay in This City: Diaspora Cinema. The features of diaspora cinema and the effects of directors on the language of cinema will be discussed in the conversation, in which cinemas from different countries will be discussed through diaspora representations.

Contribution of Cinema to Cultural Transmission to be Discussed

Another talk of the festival will be held on Saturday, August 28, at 14.00 with the participation of TRT 1 Channel Coordinator Cemil Yavuz, Director Reis Çelik and Director Nazif Tunç, under the title Cinema as a Culture Carrier, at Akademi Beyoğlu. In the talk, the subject of cultural transfer, which is one of the many different functions of cinema, will be discussed and in this context, the feature of films that enable to know different societies will be emphasized.

Human Conditions Will Be Evaluated on a Universal Scale

The last talk at the festival will be Universal Storytelling in Cinema with the participation of Director Ensar Altay, Director Ümit Köreken, Director Banu Sıvacı and Screenwriter and Writer Tarık Tufan on Saturday, August 28th at 18.00:XNUMX. In the interview, in which the human conditions told through cinema will be evaluated on a universal scale, the effects of the stories told on different cultures and the elements that make the story universal will be discussed.
