In the last 12 months, exports of the cereals, pulses and oilseeds sector, which experienced the highest increase in Turkey's food exports during the epidemic, reached 8 billion 32 million dollars.

Exports of cereals, pulses, oilseeds and their products, which were 2020 billion 4 million dollars in the January-July period of 60, increased by 18 percent to 4 billion 803 million dollars in the same period of this year.

In the said period, 777 million dollars were exported to Iraq, 156 million dollars to Iran and 141 million dollars to Germany.

2022 target is 10 billion dollars

Mustafa Terci, Chairman of the Aegean Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters' Association, said that while the demand for food products increased during the epidemic process, Turkey exported 1 billion dollars worth of food products in the last 19,5-year period.

Informing that 41 percent of Turkey's food exports are realized by the cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products sector alone, Terci said, “The exports of the cereals, pulses oilseeds sector from July 31, 2020 to August 1, 2020 are compared to the same period of the previous year. reached 14 billion 8 million dollars with an increase of 32 percent. It's a record when looked at annually. In the same period of the previous year, the grain industry realized an export of 7 billion 59 million dollars. he said.

Referring to the fact that the sector has a wide product range from vegetable oils to chocolate products, from confectionery products to bakery products, from cereals to spices, Terci said, “The demand for food will continue to increase worldwide. As Turkey, we are in a position to achieve a sustainable export if it takes steps to heal the wounds of global climate change and increases its production. We aim to export 2022 billion dollars for 10," he said.

Informing that the most bread, cake and cake group exports were made in the last 12 months, Terci said that 1 billion 105 million dollars worth of bread, cake and cake were exported in this process.

Expressing that Turkey has earned 1 billion 8 million dollars of foreign exchange income from wheat flour exports, Terci said that pasta exports have reached 775 million dollars.
