Alarko Makyol Partnership Won the Bucharest Metro Tender

The Evaluation Committee of Bucharest metro operator Metrorex has selected a Turkish joint venture for the tender for the design and construction of the Bucharest International Airport Rail Link 6th Metro Section Lot 1.1:1 from May to Otopeni.

Alsim Alarko Industrial Facilities and Trade Inc. – Makyol Construction Industry Tourism and Trade Inc. The Joint Venture received the highest score (with 99.06) after the tender criteria, including the financial and technical bid. For the design of the project, Yüksel Proje A.Ş. Introduced by the Joint Venture as the third supporting party in the qualification document offering a commitment to the bidder's technical and professional support for key personnel – design Manager and clauses 3 and 4 of similar requirements.

Following the evaluation process, technical proposals meeting the minimum requirements in the tender document were submitted by the four joint ventures. After the evaluation of the financial proposals, the proposals of the three consortia were determined to move on to the next stage of the process.

7 Mai-Tokyo metro section, which will serve 1 stations, is a part of metro Line 1, which will be built from 4 Mai station (located on Line 6) to Otopeni Airport. Line 6 will have a total length of 14,2 km and will have 12 stations.

The official statement is as follows:

Alsim Alarko-Makyol Construction Joint Venture, in which Alarko Holding subsidiary Alsim Alarko is a 50% shareholder, was announced as the winning bid in the tender opened by the Bucharest Metro Authority.

In the statement made to the PDP from the Company, the following information was given:

“Alsim Alarko Sanayi Tesisleri ve Ticaret A.Ş., in which our Subsidiary Alsim Alarko Sanayi Tesisleri ve Ticaret A.Ş. has a 50% stake. – Makyol Construction Industry Tourism and Trade Inc. The bid submitted by the Joint Venture for the tender "Bucharest International Airport Rail Link 6th Metro Section Lot 1.1: Design and construction of construction works between 1 May Otopeni", opened by the Bucharest Metro Authority (Metrorex SA), was announced as the winning bid by the employer. We are expected to be invited to contract negotiations following the completion of the necessary legal procedures.”
