The tender titled “Construction Work for the Replacement of the FSM Bridge Suspension Ropes, the Completion of the Missing Works of the Bosphorus Bridges”, prepared in this framework, was held on 6 July.

In the statement made by the Japanese company about the project, it was reminded that the FSM Bridge was completed with the Japanese official development assistance (ODA) loan and entered its 33rd year.

In the statement made about the tender, it was stated:During the “Major Repair and Structural Strengthening Construction Works of the Bosphorus and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridges” carried out in 2013, damaged suspension cables were detected in the FSM and some of the seriously damaged cables were urgently replaced. After this determination, a general inspection of all suspension cables of the bridge was carried out. As a result, the General Directorate of Highways realized that the suspension cable replacement was necessary for all suspension cables of the bridge and decided to carry out the project."
