IMM Fire Department and Regional Forestry Directorate teams responded to the fire in Heybeliada from land and air. An intense effort was made to prevent the fire, which grew due to the wind, from reaching the residential area. Cooling works have started for the flames that have been brought under control. City Lines ferries that make expeditions to the Islands do not stop at Heybeliada for security reasons.

IBBI Fire Department and Regional Forestry Directorate teams responded to the fire, which broke out at 13.15 in the forest area of ​​Heybeliada, in a coordinated way from land and air.

Intense efforts are being made to control the fire, which has grown due to the Strong Poyraz. IMM Fire Department; Adalar, Kartal, Maltepe, Fatih detachments and 40 personnel responded to the fire from land with 12 vehicles.

The Regional Directorate of Forestry continued its intervention to the flames from the air with 3 helicopters and 1 plane, and from the land with 6 water sprinklers. Citizens also supported the extinguishing efforts. As a result of intense efforts, the fire in the region was brought under control at 14.55.

Citizens who demand are evacuated from the island by 4 boats. Police and Fire Brigade teams launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. City Lines ferries that make expeditions to the Islands also do not stop at Heybeliada for security reasons.

Remzi Albayrak, Head of the IMM Fire Department, stated that the fire started in 3 different places and that the flames in 2 regions were brought under control with a quick response, "I think it will be brought under control in a short time and cooling works will begin. We continue our work in cooperation with the Regional Directorate of Forestry. In particular, our intervention continues so that the fire does not reach residential areas. According to the current situation, there is no risk,” he said.

Stating that IMM has a detachment on 4 different islands, Remzi Albayrak said that they started responding to the fire in 3 minutes from the land. Emphasizing that the support from the mainland and from the air is also very important in major fires, Albayrak said, “The fire in Heybeliada was intervened on time from land and air. Our support firefighters are also on standby at Kartal and Maltepe coast. We brought our vehicle, which we call an octopus, which pumps 6 tons of water per minute over long distances, to Heybeliada.”
