The Ministry stated that the construction of the Zigana Tunnel, which will be the third longest double-tube highway tunnel in the world and the longest in Europe when completed, on the route through which the historical Silk Road connects the Eastern Black Sea Region to the Middle East, the Caucasus and Iran is nearing the end. He stated that 24 percent of the excavation support level has been reached in the tunnel construction, which continues to be worked on, and that it is 91 kilometers in two directions before the light can be seen.
