The DigiRail (VET) Project with Digital Transformation in Railway Education, realized in partnership with TCDD Transportation General Directorate and its stakeholders TCDD, Certifer Company and Zagreb University, was introduced on 13 July 2021 in Ankara.

In the promotional program of the Digital Transformation Project in Railway Education, which aims to develop mixed trainings supported by online and face-to-face training for vocational training in sector professions such as Train Driver, Wagon Technician, Traffic Controller, Train Operator, Railway Line Maintenance Repairer, Rail Systems Signalization Maintenance, French Certifer Firm's Turkey Its representative, General Manager Ercan Yıldırım, from University of Zagreb, Dr. Borna Abramovic, TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun, TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ General Manager Hasan Pezük made the opening speech.

Hasan Pezük, General Manager of TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ: “This project, which we held the kickoff meeting today and is expected to be completed in 24 months, will provide very important gains for our industry in the future. With this project, new generation training methods will be used, different from the classical training methods, in the training of especially safety critical personnel working in the railway sector. A new generation of educational materials will be produced. With DigiRail (VET), digital training materials will be prepared for 5 safety-critical professions in railways, and an obvious added value will be created in the learning lives of those working in these professions. With this project, new generation training methods will be used, different from classical training methods, and new generation training materials will be developed, especially in the training of safety critical personnel working in the railway sector. With the Digi-Rail (VET) Project, digital training materials will be prepared for 5 safety-critical professions in railways, and an obvious added value will be created for the learning lives of those working in these professions.” said.

Our High Speed ​​MAPDaR project, which aims to document high-speed train set maintainers, continues successfully.

Stating that it is suitable for the objectives of the European Union, realizing lifelong learning and mobility, increasing the quality and efficiency of education and training, encouraging creativity, innovation, increasing social inclusion and employability, Pezük said, “In this context, the high-speed train set we started as the TCDD Taşımacılık family. Our High Speed ​​MAPDaR project, which aims to document the caregivers in a fair and transparent manner, continues successfully.”

Pezuk also said: “Within the scope of Erasmus Accreditation, which we prepared in cooperation with TCDD; By cooperating with the representatives of the railway sector in Europe, by enabling the railwaymen to specialize in technical and professional fields, especially the concept of railway safety, and to increase their knowledge, skills and experience; We will organize activities such as training and internships. Fund support will be received in the areas I have mentioned in accordance with the internationalization strategy we have prepared for the 2021-2027 period.

TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun said: I attach great importance to the studies initiated with this project in terms of developing mixed education supported by online and face-to-face training for vocational education, and using the conveniences of the digital world, which is already a part of our lives, in railway education. As TCDD, we started our development journey in terms of both digital personnel mobility and digital training activities. Online trainings offered within the Turkish Railway Academy; provides a training environment where our employees can access whenever and wherever they want. I would like to thank the European Union Presidency, the Turkish National Agency, our project partners and all our experts who contributed to the preparation of the project for supporting our DigiRail Project, which will focus on the development and digitalization of railway education. " said.

After the opening speech, the General Managers and the Certifer Firm and the Legal Representatives of the University of Zagreb signed the Erasmus Accreditation Memorandum of Understanding.
