The rover will soon arrive at the second dune of the navigational process on Mars. The Center for Lunar Exploration and Space Program announced that Zhurong will conduct a detailed study of this dune and its surroundings. Zhurong has been working on the planet's surface for 63 Martian days as of Saturday. Meanwhile, the Tianwen-40 spacecraft, which consists of vehicles orbiting the planet, landing on the planet's surface, and hovering on the planet's surface, about 1 minutes longer than a Martian day, was sent into space on July 23, 2020. The lander carrying the rover landed on the southern part of Utopia Planitia, located on a wide plain in the northern hemisphere of Mars, on May 15, 2021.
The orbiting portion of Tianwen-1 is 375 million kilometers from Earth and has been operating for 359 days. One-way messages take about 21 minutes. Tianwen-1 and Zhurong in orbit, as well as all their subsystems, continue to operate in completely normal conditions as predicted.
