Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, who attended the Gebze-Darıca Metro TBM Ceremony, said in his speech, “Our metro line, whose transportation speed will be 80 km per hour, will serve 330 thousand passengers in one day when it is first opened. With the project, we will create an important alternative to the road transportation between Gebze Organized Industrial Zone and Gebze-Darica districts. Our Gebze OSB-Darıca Coastal Metro Line will also be connected to Marmaray at the Gar Station," he said.

Karaismailoğlu, who later visited TÜRASAŞ Sakarya Regional Directorate, received information about the works from the factory officials. Karaismailoğlu said that they received information about national projects, which are among the most important projects in the history of the Republic, which will accelerate the development of rail systems.

As of last week, the total number of freight transported via the line in the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project exceeded 1 million tons. Today, a freight train departing from China can change continents via Marmaray and reach its address in Europe without using any other mode of transportation.” he said.

Explaining that they continue to work excitedly to take the big steps they took in the railway, thanks to the "Railway Reform" they announced last year, Karaismailoğlu stated that it is a source of pride for them to see that Sakarya has become an important center in the region and the country, with their railway investments.

“TÜRASAŞ, formed by the merger of TÜLOMSAŞ, TÜDEMSAŞ and TÜVASAŞ, leads very important projects on the way to national economy and national independence. With the National Electric Train Set (EMU), Electric Mainline Locomotive (E5000), Hybrid Locomotive, Dual Locomotive and original engine projects, which we aim to start mass production in the last quarter of this year, as well as the National Commuter Train Set projects, whose prototype production started this year, TÜRASAŞ is leading our railway reform. it does.

In December 2020, the design and manufacturing works of the first prototype set of the National Electric Train Set Project within the scope of domestic and national projects were carried out within the body of TÜRASAŞ Sakarya Regional Directorate. Following the prototype production and factory tests of the National Electric Train Set, which reaches a speed of 160 kilometers per hour, road tests began. After that, navigational safety and comfort tests will be carried out under the control of an accredited institution. We will put our train into the service of our nation this year.”

As you can see, we are working with the motivation and enthusiasm of the first day for the holistic development of Turkey with our plans and projects targeting 2003, 2023 and 2053 with our ongoing actions since 2071. All these efforts; To transform the new Turkey, which acts on the principle of national independence and national economy, into a global power and one of the world's leading logistics centers.” he said.

“We aim to increase the share of domestic production in the project to 80 percent”

Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that TÜRASAŞ Sakarya Regional Directorate, which has produced 2 thousand 300 passenger wagons for TCDD Tasimacilik and carried out maintenance, repair, revision and modernization of 38 thousand 490 passenger wagons, has saved Turkey from being foreign-dependent in the field of rail vehicles and has made significant contributions to the national economy. .

Karaismailoğlu noted that as of 2021, 95 Sets of National Electric Train (EMU) orders for 19 vehicles have been received and purchasing activities have been started for the mass production process.

Pointing out that TÜRASAŞ also gained the ability to produce aluminum vehicle bodies with the production of National Train, Karaismailoğlu stated that an automation system was also established that enables the production of bogie chassis with robotic welding systems.

“We aim to increase the share of domestic production in the project to 60 percent with the mass production of the National Electric Train Set, which has a local rate of 80 percent in our project.” Minister Karaismailoğlu said that in TÜRASAŞ Sakarya Regional Directorate, sleeper and VIP sleeper project studies are continuing to meet the needs of TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ, that the production of 5 VIP and 12 sleeping wagons will be completed this year, as well as in Eskişehir and Sivas Regional Directorates. He said that very important works are continuing increasingly.

With the advantage of our geopolitical position, it is working hard to become the leading country in its region in freight and passenger transportation on the east-west line 'Silk Railway' Middle Corridor; We are making efforts to prioritize our country as an advantageous transit point on the railway line stretching from Beijing to London.
