Technology pioneer Schunk drew attention to current developments in robotic technologies at Connection Days Talks. As the world leader in its sector, Schunk will be a Premium Sponsor at the Industrial Robot Automation and Future Conference to be held on June 22 by Connection Days, the digital event platform of Hannover Fairs Turkey. Schunk Turkey and Middle East Country Manager Emre Sönmez and Schunk Turkey Automation Department Sales Manager Egemen Zengin, who participated in the Connection Days Talks special live broadcast before the event, shared up-to-date information on the future of robotics technologies and the use of robots in Turkey.

Schunk, which operates in more than 50 countries around the world and is the world leader in the robotic automation equipment, CNC machine workpiece clamping systems and tool holders market, will be holding the Connection Days digital event in cooperation with Hannover Fairs Turkey and ENOSAD (Industrial Automation Manufacturers Association) on June 22. took its place among the Premium Sponsors of the Industrial Robot Automation and Future Conference, which will be held on the event platform.

Emre Sönmez, Schunk Turkey and Middle East Country Manager, who attended the Connection Days Talks special live broadcast before the event, said, “As Schunk, we operate in almost every sector. In particular, the automotive, automotive sub-industry, white goods, fast-moving consumer goods and electrical-electronics sectors are among our priority fields of activity. At the point we have reached today; We are in a digital mobility age where flexible, smart, self-learning, artificial intelligence algorithms are intense and 5G communication technology is used. Robotic applications can now appear in every field. When we look at the statistical data on the use of robots in the industry, we see that 796 new robots have been installed in Turkey. Between 2014 and 2019, annual robot installations increased by an average of 8 percent. According to this table, we can say that the use of robots and collaborative robots in the factories of the future will be at the maximum level.

Increasing need for collaborative robots

Speaking about Schunk's collaborative robot solutions in the live broadcast, Schunk Turkey Automation Department Sales Manager Egemen Zengin said, “Collaborative robots appear as robotic systems that work in cooperation with humans. In practice, it can be used as an aid to people and can perform two different tasks at the same time and in the same environment. In some conditions, full automation of production and assembly lines is not an economical solution, so collaborative robots are more needed. With collaborative robots, the need for faster and easier installation of systems arose. As Schunk, we introduced collaborative holder and plug-and-play product groups to the market. Schunk's collaborative gripper and plug-and-play product lines can also be directly applied to robots from different robot manufacturers. As the first manufacturer of this product group in the world, we offer a wide range of standard products to various collaborative robots and light robots.”
