From Friday, May 7, 2021, only animal feed, food and cosmetics (excluding perfumery and make-up materials) will be available for sale in markets (including chain and supermarkets) as well as basic food and cleaning products.

The Ministry of Interior sent a circular on “Market Measures” to 81 Provincial Governorships.

In the circular, it was reminded that the procedures and principles regarding the curfews applied during the full closure process were determined and announced to the governors.

In this context, it has been stated that all commercial enterprises, workplaces and / or offices will be closed except for the places where basic food, medicine and cleaning products are sold and the workplaces covered by the exemption in order not to disrupt the production, manufacturing, supply and logistics chains during the curfews sent to the provinces. It was reported that grocery stores, markets, bakeries, butchers, greengrocers, dried fruits and desserts shops could operate between 10.00-17.00 during the closing period, while chains and supermarkets would remain closed on Sundays, limited to meeting their basic needs.

In the circular, the measures taken as a result of the meetings with the relevant Ministries, public institutions and organizations, trade associations and sector representatives in order to prevent the crowds that may occur in the markets during the curfew are listed as follows:

- In the markets (including chain and super markets), no products will be allowed to sell any products other than those that are covered by the mandatory basic needs of citizens.

From Friday, May 7, 2021, only animal feed, food and cosmetics (excluding perfumery and make-up materials) will be available for sale in markets (including chain and supermarkets) as well as basic food and cleaning products.

In addition to the restriction on the sale of alcoholic products, which was previously introduced, electronic goods, toys, stationery, clothing and accessories, home textiles, auto accessories, garden supplies, hardware, glassware etc. the sale of products will not be allowed.

In line with these principles, the decisions of the Provincial / District General Hygiene Boards will be taken urgently in accordance with Articles 27 and 72 of the General Hygiene Law.

- Notifications and controls regarding this issue will be fulfilled completely by the inspection teams, especially the police officers and law enforcement officers. There will be no disruption in the application and no grievances will be caused.
