Hale Zayid, Minister of Health and Population of Egypt, announced that the Covid-19 vaccine produced by China in cooperation with Sinovac in Egypt will be released at the end of June.
Speaking at the press conference held yesterday, Hale Zayid stated that the vaccines produced in Egypt will be used primarily to meet local needs, and the remaining amount will be exported to other countries in Africa. Zayid emphasized that thanks to the assistance provided by the Chinese government, Egypt has become the first country in Africa with vaccine production capacity.
On the other hand, the Zambian government announced that they are considering including the Covid-19 vaccine developed by the Chinese National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm) in the national vaccination plan. In a statement made by the government, it was stated that the application aims to ensure the safety of vaccine supply. It has been reported that the number of citizens vaccinated in Zambia reached 77.
