Organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with the Turkish Volleyball Federation and hosted by the CEV Continental Cup, the Turkish Men's National Team qualified for the semi-finals and competed in the Dutch stage of the Olympic qualifiers. Our Women's National Team narrowly missed the semi-final ticket.

The CEV Continental Cup, which is also important in terms of participation visa to the Summer Olympics to be held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, is the scene of great excitement. In the second matches, Murat Giginoglu - Volkan Göğtepe, Estonian Kusti Nõlvak - Mart Tiisaar 2-1, Safa Urlu - Selçuk Şekerci beat Estonian Timo Ander Lõhmus - Dimitriy Korotkov with the same score 2-1 and reached the semi-finals in the tournament. With these results, our Men's National Team secured the Dutch ticket, which is the final stage where the teams to participate in the Tokyo Olympics will be determined.

For women, the semi-final ticket was lost at the last minute. Our Women's National Team, aiming for the top five, finished the tournament sixth. In the first match of the fifth series, Selin Yurtsever - Dilara Gedikoğlu, Slovenian Tjesa Kotnik - Tajda Lovsin lost 2-0. In the second match, our National Women, consisting of Bahanur Gökalp-Merve Çelebi, lost 2-0 to the Slovenian pair of Nina Lovsin-Spela Morgan and missed the chance to go to the Dutch qualifiers, the last obstacle on the Tokyo road.

The last round is in the Netherlands

The organization will end with the final matches to be played today in women and tomorrow in men. Countries that finished their groups in the top five in the CEV Continental Cup will receive the final ticket. The finals will be held in the Netherlands in June.
