The foundation of the Labor - City Hospital Rail System Line, which was designed by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality to ensure uninterrupted transportation to the City Hospital and to be built by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, was laid with a ceremony attended by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu.

With a total bed capacity of 6 in 355 different hospitals within its structure, the production of the Labor - City Hospital Rail System Line, which was designed by the Metropolitan Municipality in order to ensure uninterrupted transportation in Bursa City Hospital, which significantly took the burden of health services in Bursa during the pandemic process, officially started. The foundation of the 6.1-kilometer line with 4 stations, which was transferred to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure with the decision of the Council of Ministers, was laid in the area behind the City Hospital. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu, Bursa Governor Yakup Canbolat, AK Party Bursa Deputies, District Mayors, AK Party Provincial Mayor Davut Gürkan and many guests attended.

Rail system network is expanding

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that they made the state's power felt in Bursa not only in the transportation area, but also in many areas ranging from sports projects to urban transformation applications by shuttling between Bursa and Ankara. Stating that the City Hospital Line is an important development in terms of reaping the fruits of Ankara contacts, Mayor Aktaş said, “We held some meetings in our Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure about 2 years ago. Our projects have been presented to our President, and we are finally laying the foundations of the Emek - City Hospital Line today. On this occasion, I would like to express my special thanks to the President of the Republic, the valuable employees of our Ministry of Transport, and the deputies who closely follow the process. Currently, the current rail system line in Bursa is 47,2 kilometers in total, including tram lines. With the addition of the 6,1 kilometer-long Emek-Şehir Hospital Line and the 9-kilometer City Square-Terminal Line, our total rail system line will increase to 62 kilometers. With this line, our inner city rail system line will be connected to both Bursa City Hospital and Bursa-Ankara High Speed ​​Line station planned to be built in Balat, ”he said.

In his speech, Mayor Aktaş requested support from Minister Karaismailoğlu for the 4,5-kilometer line that will extend the University Line to Görükle.

27 billion worth of investment in Bursa

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said that in the last 19 years, Bursa has received an investment of approximately 12 billion 830 million TL, 27 billion 485 million TL of which is within the scope of Build-Operate-Transfer, only in the transportation and communication infrastructure. Karaismailoğlu, who stated that they increased the divided road of Bursa from 2003 kilometers in 194 to 598 kilometers, such as Istanbul -Gebze-Orhangazi-İzmir Highway, Bursa Ring Motorway, Bursa-İnegöl-Bozüyük-Ankara Border Road, Bursa-Karacabey Road, Bursa-Mudanya. He reminded that many roads have turned into divided roads. Noting that they are working to bring Bursa together with railway comfort and speed, Karaismailoğlu said, “We are building a high-speed train line between Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli in connection with the Ankara-Istanbul YHT line. Currently, our construction works continue in two sections between Bursa-Yenişehir-Osmaneli, which is 106 kilometers long. We achieved 56 percent physical progress in infrastructure works on the Bursa-Gölbaşı-Yenişehir line, the first section of 74,8 kilometers. "We are starting work between Yenişehir-Osmaneli, which is 50 kilometers long," he said.

Metro comfort

Karaismailoğlu, who stated that they made important investments as a ministry in order for citizens to benefit from the comfort of the metro in metropolitan cities, emphasized that they delivered the rail system to City Hospitals in Istanbul, Kayseri and Kocaeli. Stating that it was their duty to build the 6-kilometer metro that will provide comfortable transportation to the citizens of Bursa City Hospital, Karaismailoğlu said, “Today we are adding a new one to these huge transportation investments with the Emek-YHT Gar-City Hospital Metro Line. We are making a new start with the 4-kilometer-long Emek-YHT Gar-Şehir Hospital Metro Line, which will serve with 6 stations in our Bursa. The Emek-Arabayatağı Metro line currently in operation; With the extension we will make, we will cross the Mudanya Boulevard and reach the YHT Station and finally the City Hospital, and it will make it easier for our citizens of Bursa to reach these destinations. Our line will be built with cut-and-cover method, and when finished, it will work as a system that passes under the streets and does not occupy space on the surface. Bursa transportation and communication will increase the efficiency with existing investments in infrastructure, will add new unique contribution to the future of Turkey. I hope that our Emek-YHT Gar-Şehir Hospital Metro Line will be beneficial to all of our country, especially to Bursa, ”

AK Party Deputy Chairman for Foreign Affairs and Bursa Deputy Efkan Ala reminded that Bursa is a producing city and transportation is essential for producing cities. Reminding that they promised the people of Bursa at the point of solving the transportation problem of the election period, Ala thanked the Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu for their support in fulfilling this promise.

Bursa Governor Yakup Canbolat also stated that with this project, which will increase the rail system network of Bursa to 62 kilometers, the 1355-bed capacity Bursa City Hospital and Bursa Ankara high-speed train line will be connected to the Bursa Station with a comfortable and uninterrupted connection.

Yalçın Eyigün, General Manager of Infrastructure Investments of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, gave information about the technical features of the line.

Following the speeches, the foundation of the Emek - YHT Gar - Bursa City Hospital Line was laid.
