For this reason, various initiatives are being developed that form the basis of regional and international cooperation for the establishment of uninterrupted transportation connections around the world ”.
Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, held the "South East Europe Cooperation Process Transport Ministers Meeting" held within the framework of the South East Europe Cooperation Process (SEE) 2020-2021 Turkish Term Presidency via video conference method. At the end of the meeting, the Joint Declaration Draft prepared by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure within the framework of the Turkish Presidency was accepted.
South East Europe Cooperation Process is 25 years old!

Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that the South East Europe Cooperation Process Turkish Presidency, its priorities and activities were designed with the aim of strengthening the principles of "regional ownership" and "inclusiveness". Emphasizing that connectivity is of great importance for the global economy in today's world in trade, energy, transportation and digital fields, Minister Karaismailoğlu said:
“One of our most important priorities determined is the establishment and strengthening of regional connectivity. For this reason, various initiatives are being developed that form the basis of regional and international cooperation for the establishment of uninterrupted transport links throughout the world. Among these, it is possible to count many corridors and projects such as Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T), Europe-Caucasus-Asia Transport Corridor (TRACECA), Europe-Asia Transport Links (EATL), Belt and Road and Middle Corridor initiative. Developing a well-established, safe and sustainable transport system, both within the region and with neighboring regions, will undoubtedly contribute to increasing our competitiveness in global markets, our economic growth and the emergence of new business opportunities as the residents of the region. It will also constitute a catalyst for the revitalization of socioeconomic and cultural activities such as tourism and trade in the region. "
A Transport Working Group will be established under the umbrella of SEE
Pointing out that they are ready to contribute to all kinds of initiatives and efforts in the region to increase cooperation, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “Among the issues we need to focus on in the region; Increasing regional interoperability, developing multimodal transport, fully utilizing the potential of sea ports, removing frequency and point restrictions in airline transport, increasing railway connections and utilizing digital technologies in transportation are possible. In this context, we would like to propose the establishment of a Transport Working Group under the umbrella of SEE. Likewise, it is our hope that the Transportation Ministers Meeting will be held regularly within the framework of each SEECP Presidency ”.
"Joint Declaration Draft" was accepted
Minister Karaismailoğlu, who made the opening speech and gave information about the meeting program, then promised the Ministers of the participating countries, then the Deputy Ministers and finally the heads of the delegations. At the end of the meeting, the Joint Declaration Draft prepared by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure within the framework of the Turkish Presidency was accepted.
The meeting was attended by Skopje Transport and Communications Minister Blagoy Boksvarski, Deputy Minister of the Slovenian Ministry of Infrastructure Blaj Kosorok, Deputy Minister of the Bulgarian Ministry of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Velik Zanchev, Deputy Minister Etjen Xhafaj from the Albanian Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, and Deputy Minister from Greece, Serbia and Montenegro. and participation at representative level.
