IMM started free bus services that will connect the Alibeyköy - Cibali Tramway, which was put into service in January and whose travel demand is increasing day by day.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) opened the Alibeyköy - Cibali Line, the first stage of the Eminönü - Alibeyköy Tramway, on January 1, 2021. Demand for the tram, which offers panoramic travel in the Golden Horn and integrated with Mecidiyeköy - Mahmutbey Metro, is increasing day by day. 400 thousand passengers have been transported so far, and the number of trips on busy days exceeds 10 thousand.
Considering the increasing travel demands of the citizens, IMM took the issue to UKOME on March 25 and offered free IETT flights to be integrated with the tram line. Free ring services started today after the unanimous decision.
In this context, trips are organized between Cibali and Eminönü, the first stop of the tram line, every 15 minutes. On the 2,5-kilometer Unkapanı Kadir Has University - Haliç Metro - Eminönü Kantarcılar route, 2 vehicles start their trips mutually at the same time. It is aimed to organize 06.00 trips a day on the EC21.30 coded line to be held between 1 and 125 in the morning.
