The tender announced by TCDD in January, within the framework of its plan to open passenger transportation to the private sector, has reached a deadlock.

It is true that a tender will be determined for 2021, but as of December 2020, we have not heard that there is an application to the Transport Regulation General Assembly yet, it seems that we will carry out passenger and freight transportation in 2021, ”he said.
Kazancıoğlu's response to Sındır's words "I hope it will not be privatized" drew attention. Murat Oral, President of the United Transport Workers Union (BTS), who made an assessment on the subject, drew attention to the Covid-19 outbreak and the costs in railway transportation. Stating that railways are making losses all over the world, Oral stated that on the other hand, they indirectly benefit the economy.
