Following the 2016 km long sections of the motorway, which has been put into service partially since 320, the longest section of 1 km between İzmit 72.72 Junction and Akyazı was put into service, and a transportation corridor surrounding the region at the heart of trade was completed. In the 6th section opened; There are a total of 4 art structures, including 64 viaducts, 22 bridges, 20 overpasses, 179 underpasses and 289 culverts.
Within the scope of the project, there are 14 intersections in the European part and 29 intersections in the Anatolian part of the Northern Marmara Motorway. In the project, drivers who will enter the highway from Silivri are connected to the TEM Highway from Akyazı after passing the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge. The total project includes 8 tunnels, 30 viaducts, 143 bridges, 96 underpasses, 73 overpasses, 600 culverts. By enabling the access of the Thrace Region to Istanbul on the European side, it will reduce the traffic density on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge by relieving the urban traffic with the help of Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and connection roads. The total cost of the project is 13.6 billion TL.
