IMM Increases Internet Support for Students to 150 GB per Month

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), which aims to support students to catch up with the digital world and to access information easily, increases the free internet service quota in the libraries. WiFi quota increases to 150 GB per month. The application will start operating on November 24, Teachers' Day.

Aiming to provide additional contribution to students who do not have internet at home and have problems with access to distance education, IMM increases the IMM WiFi service quota in libraries to 5 GB per month with a daily quota of 150 GB. With the service that will be valid in 17 libraries with IMM WiFi points throughout Istanbul, students will be able to use the free internet while preparing for their exams or doing research on their lessons. With the application, which will start to serve on November 24 Teachers' Day, all students and citizens will be able to benefit from the fast and secure internet experience for personal development and digital education opportunities.

4 MILLION USERS

Enhancing the quality of infrastructure services increased Turkey's largest free WiFi internet network IMM's, the number of subscribers reached 4 million. It is aimed to increase the number of users of IMM WiFi, which currently serves an average of 7 thousand users per day at 679 thousand 100 access points, with new locations to be added. An average of 3 local and 700 foreign new users are registered to IMM WiFi every day.

With the IMM WiFi service provided by the IMM in the crowded public transportation vehicles, square, park, pier, library, cultural center, university, sports facility and touristic social areas, citizens are offered a quality and safe communication experience.

VERY EASY TO BENEFIT

In order to benefit from the free internet service, it is sufficient for users to connect to the İBB WiFi wireless network from their internet points via smartphone, tablet or laptop.
