Cumhuriyet Teknokent, which was established on September 7, 2007 with the cooperation of Sivas Governorship, Cumhuriyet University, Sivas Municipality, Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Commerce Industry, Cumhuriyet University Foundation and Bilkent University affiliated with Ankara Cyberpark, continues its efforts to become the software center of the region.

Drawing attention in Sivas with its R&D services in order to increase the cooperation between the university, industry and research centers, Cumhuriyet Teknokent held the board meeting in October with the participation of Sivas Governor Salih Ayhan and board members.

Technopolis Manager Serdar Mercan gave information to the participants about the prepared and planned projects at the meeting, where technopolis studies, technology and transfer office information, inviting companies operating in the region to Teknokent, and the work done and planned.

Cumhuriyet Teknokent Prepared 150 Projects

Stating that Teknokent has prepared 150 projects so far, Technocity Manager Serdar Mercan stated that 68 projects have been successfully completed and that 63 projects are continuing. Stating that projects are prepared in the fields of medical, health, software, animal husbandry, engineering, agriculture and mining in order to contribute to the formation and growth of technology companies, Mercan pointed out that Teknokent's success is increasing day by day.

Expressing that Cumhuriyet Teknokent was awarded the 2018nd prize in the 'Best Developing Technoparks' group in 2 by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Mercan said that academic knowledge and research results at universities add value to the economy.

Stating that Teknokent continues to work towards increasing budget and employment every year, Mercan said that project-supported corporation and entrepreneurship services continue in Cumhuriyet Technology Transfer Office (CUTTO) established within Teknokent, as a result of these services, the number of companies increasing every year, increasing consultancy He noted that the services and the increasing number of patents were also printed.

Governor Ayhan will make frequent mention of Teknokent

Governor Salih Ayhan stated that Cumhuriyet Teknokent, which guides our rapidly developing companies in R&D issues and is the software base of the region, is one of the best examples of university-industry cooperation, and said that the center will be mentioned frequently with its successful works.

We Will Give Importance To Training Qualified Personnel

Emphasizing that it would be beneficial for ESTAŞ, Aselsan, Dermokil and SİVTAŞ companies to actively carry out R&D studies within the body of Cumhuriyet Teknokent, Governor Ayhan said, “Approximately 60 percent of the companies within Teknokent are software companies and in the field of software in order to transform Sivas into a software base. It is necessary to attach importance to training qualified personnel that companies need. In this regard, the Provincial Directorate of National Education and our Youth and Sports Directorate should do the necessary work. It is also important that Teknokent works on renewable energy resources and establishing a GES (Solar Power Plant) within Teknokent. " said.
