Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Yüce announced that preparations for the Mountain Bike Marathon World Championship, which will be held between October 23-25, under the auspices of the Presidency, continue. Mayor Ekrem Yüce, who examines the works carried out in the Sunflower Bicycle Valley and rides with the athletes of the Metropolitan Municipality Cycling Team, stated that the Sakarya EXPO will also open on Thursday, October 22nd.

Expressing that they act with the finest detail in order to complete the championship flawlessly, President Ekrem Yüce said, “It is a very special week for our city. Under the auspices of our Presidency, we will hold the Mountain Bike Marathon World Championship on October 23-25, with the hosting of our city. At the same time, our EXPO area, which will contribute to the promotion of Sakarya during the championship, is also being prepared. We consider the smallest detail for a magnificent hosting. Hundreds of world-class athletes from over 30 countries will be pedaling in the championship. I invite all our citizens to share this excitement from now on ”.
Pandemic rules will be applied
Stating that they will host the championship that will increase the recognition of Sakarya in the world and that will be appreciated by the cycling authorities, President Ekrem Yüce stated that the championship, in which the eyes of the world will be on Sakarya, will contribute to the promotion of the city's natural and historical beauties. Underlining that the pandemic rules will also be applied strictly in the field, President Yüce stated that the necessary health measures will be taken until the last day of the championship calendar, which will start with the opening of Sakarya EXPO.
