EGO General Directorate, affiliated with Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, announced that it does not approve the increase of the sales price of ANKARAKART from 7 lira to 8 lira 50 kurus.

In the statement made by the General Directorate of EGO; “The E-Kent firm, which carries out the electronic fee collection procedures for public transportation vehicles, has increased the sales price of ANKARAKART from 7 TL to 8.5 TL without the approval of our EGO General Directorate.

Based on the Electronic Fee Collection agreement signed with the EGO General Directorate in March 2013, the company unilaterally realized this increase without permission.

E-Kent Company has requested from EGO General Directorate to increase the sales price of ANKARAKART, citing the relevant article of the contract and the annual PPI increase rate, this year. In the evaluation, the increase rates made in the past seven years (in 2014, the sales price of ANKARAKART was put on sale from 5 TL, in the following years it was increased to 5.5 TL, then to 6 TL and to 2019 TL in 7), Increase requests were not accepted, taking into account the imbalance of the requested raise rate and also the economic difficulties experienced by our citizens due to the pandemic process.
