World-renowned Formula 1 races will be held in Istanbul Park after 9 years. Before the race to be held in November, Istanbul Park hosted an important "Environmentalist Race". The special stage of the 16th TÜBİTAK Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST was held in Istanbul Park. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, who started the race, announced that the electric vehicle races will be held in Istanbul Park from now on.

SPECIAL RACE

"16. Following the first and second final races of the TÜBİTAK Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races held on 4-5 September at the Gulf Race Track, a special race was held in Istanbul Park on the last day of the event.

ISTANBUL UNIVERSITY FIRST

In the race that started with the start of Minister Varank; Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Milat 1453 team came first, Sakarya Applied Sciences University SUBU TETRA team second, Yıldız Technical University AESK Electromobile team came third.

THE PRESIDENT WILL GIVE THE AWARDS

At the award ceremony held after the race, the teams ranked in the special race received their awards from Minister Varank. Those who ranked in the first and second final races held at the Körfez Race Track will receive their awards from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the ceremony to be held in Gaziantep.

BUILDING FOR 16 YEARS

Varank, in his speech at the awards ceremony, teknofest Turkey's first aerospace, aviation and technology festival is expressed as "electric and a race car competitions we organize Hidromobil in 16 years. We are trying to Turkey as part of its cost in all TEKNOFEST. " said.

CALL TO RECTORS

Drawing attention to the fact that this race is an engineering and performance race, Varank said, “Our young people who have participated in these competitions before are now in managerial positions in global companies. You will also achieve those successes. I have a small call to university rectors. Some of our students said that they could not get enough support from our rectors. I call out to them from here and say, please our teachers pay more attention to these works. " he spoke.

PERFORMANCES MUST INCREASE

Stating that he met with the Governor of Istanbul and the President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Varank said, “From now on, TÜBİTAK Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races will be held in Istanbul Park. They have such a request. Our young people should add to their vehicles every year in terms of performance. From now on we need to work better. " said.

ENGINEERING RACE

TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal said, “We did not do a speed race here. Our friends designed it first for a year, then produced it and performed in the last 6 days. It was an engineering race. I thank our teams for coming here and being in this process. " said.
