Champions League Champion Bayern Munich became the first football team in the world to use electric cars as part of the sponsorship with Audi for years.

Audi has also installed charging units in Sabern Strasse, Bayern's training ground, to charge the e-tron models to be used by the team's players.

Extending the sponsorship contract with Bayern Munich, which expired last year, until 2029, Audi delivered the electric model family e-tron vehicles that the team's players and technical team made available. In the delivery, which took place at Munich Airport due to Covid 19 measures and included the team, Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick, Team Captain Manuel Neuer and Robert Lewandowski, other team players and Club President Karl Heinz Rummenigge participated in the delivery.

With the delivery of 19 e-tron models, Bayern Munich became the first football team to add an electric car to its fleet. Neuer said in his speech: “During my time at Bayern, I witnessed Audi models. Ten years ago, my first car was the diesel Q10 TDI. "Now I drive an electric Audi," he said.
