State Garden Bridge, Unfinished for Years in Adana, Goes to Tender

Action was taken for the bridge in Adana, named after MHP President Devlet Bahçeli, which could only be built in 4 years. The General Directorate of Highways started the tender preparations in order to complete the remaining construction works of the bridge. The tender is expected to be held in September. An investment of around 600 million TL is anticipated for the project. The bridge will be completed with budget possibilities.

FOUNDED ON MARCH 30, 2016

According to the news of Olcay Aydilek from Habertürk; “The foundation of the bridge, named after MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli in Adana, was laid on 30 March 2016. The bridge, which Bahçeli also participated in the groundbreaking ceremony, was tendered for 215 million lira. The bridge is aimed to be completed in October 2018. However, in the last 4 years, only a third of the bridge has been completed.

600 MILLION TL COST

Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar told Habertürk that 215 million TL was spent on the bridge, which was planned to be built for 120 million in the previous municipal period, and the project was later canceled. Karalar stated that they encountered an amount of 600 million TL when they asked the construction company to renew the project and said, “After we were elected to the task, we transferred 40 million TL to the project for the completion of this bridge, which bears the name of Mr. ”he said.

HIGHWAYS PREPARING FOR TENDER

Until now, progress has not been made in the bridge construction for economic reasons. The General Directorate of Highways rolled up its sleeves to complete the remaining construction works of the bridge and started the tender preparations. The tender is expected to be held in September. An investment of around 600 million TL is anticipated for the project. The bridge will be completed with budgetary possibilities and will be put into service. The bridge, which is planned to have three lanes round trip and a rail system in the middle, will have a length of 700 meters.
