The Kocaeli Tourism and Bicycle Festival, which will be organized by the Metropolitan Municipality in Kandıra, Kocaeli's most important district in terms of sand, sea and sun tourism, will take place between 10-13 September. The festival organization, in which Kocaeli Bicycle Platform and Kandıra Municipality will be stakeholders, will be organized according to pandemic conditions and rules.
PEDALS WILL BE TURNED IN TOURIST IMPORTANT VENUES
Natural beauty, blue bayraklı Known for its beaches, local delicacies and friendly people, Kandira, the favorite of tourism, is preparing to host cycling enthusiasts. This year, for the first time, cyclists will pedal to introduce the natural touristic places of Kandıra in the festival, which will be held between 10-13 September under the leadership of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality. The 3-day festival will start from Kerpe. For the festival, there will be pedaling on routes with historical and natural beauties such as Bağırganlı, Cebeci, Akçakoca Bey Tomb, Babatepe and Pink Rocks. In addition, beach cleaning activities will be carried out to raise awareness within the scope of social responsibility.
THERE WILL BE LIMITED PARTICIPATION AND TENT ACCOMMODATION
Quota participation will be realized in the festival, which will be organized considering the pandemic process. Regular temperature measurements, hygiene practices and frequent inspections will be carried out during the festival. In the area where hygiene stations will be established, participants will be provided with their tents and accommodation in accordance with the social distance.
KANDIRA SPECIAL TASTES WILL BE TASTED
Starting from Kerpe and on a route of 109 kilometers in total, in three days, not only the natural beauty of Kandira but also the delicious food will be introduced. On the route to be visited in the area where 180 cyclists will come and camp and in the villages of Kandira; local flavors will also be tasted.
"BICYCLE IS THE KEY TO A HAPPY CITY"
Due to the pandemic process, 200 cyclists will participate in the festival, and all the facilities that may be needed for the participants will be met by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality. In Kandıra, where 109 kilometers in total will be covered, on the first day Kerpe-Kandıra-Bağırganlı-Kerpe, on the second day Kerpe-Cebeci-Babalı-Kerpe, and on the third day, on the third day, Kerpe-Babatepe-Akçakoca Bey Tomb-Kerpe routes will be cycled. At the end of the 3-day festival, Kandira, the pearl of Kocaeli, will be discovered with pedals.

In addition to KOBİS, which will establish a repair station for festival participants and provide technical support to the organization, natural bicycle tracks, or in other words, mountain bike tracks created in Kocaeli geography, were mapped and presented to the service of bike lovers.

NATURE TOURISM TRACKS WILL BE BRANDED
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality makes a great effort to bring Kocaeli's hidden beauties to light. In this context, the walking routes determined by the Department of Culture and Social Affairs, Tourism and Natural Habitats Branch Directorate are presented to the service of nature and sports enthusiasts by signing them. As of this year, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality offers hiking, cycling, canyon crossing and camping on nature tourism tracks with a length of more than 2 kilometers.
THE LONGEST NATURE WALKING TRACKS ARE HERE
When considering the existing trails in Kocaeli, Turkey's longest nature carries the distinction of being with hiking trails Province. On the 'Zambak Yolu' route, which stretches for 90 kilometers in the coastal part of Kandıra district, a track suitable for trekking in 4 seasons has been created.
