Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, who examined the Gebze OSB-Darıca Coastal Road Metro construction site, said that while connecting the cities with High Speed Train (YHT) lines, they provided the integration of high-speed trains with the city subways.
Stating that the metro is 15,5 kilometers long, Karaismailoğlu noted that the project has 11 stations.
Karaismailoğlu said: “Work has begun, expropriation is about to be completed. It will continue much faster in the coming days. Our goal is to fully open this place in May of 2023. We aim to complete the section of the 11-station, 15,5-kilometer section north of the D-100 first and put 2022 stations into operation in 8. We aim to put the 2023-station section between TCDD Station and the coast into operation until May 4. Our programs are like that. ”
“Metro vehicles will also be domestic and national”
Minister Karaismailoğlu said that this line will connect the industrial areas with the city and said that they will continue to equip all parts of the country by railways.
Stating that the vehicles planned for the line will be domestic production, Karaismailoğlu gave the following information: “The tender of the rail system metro vehicles of this place will be held on the 22nd of this month. Hopefully the metro vehicles, which will be all domestic production, will work on this line. Our works on it continue, after completing the tender and completing the manufacturing, the metro vehicles will be domestic and national with this line. You will have the opportunity to travel with domestic and national metro vehicles.

Minister Karaismailoğlu, who received information from the officials by visiting the Gebze OSB-Darıca Coastal Metro Construction Site, was accompanied by Kocaeli Governor Seddar Yavuz and Kocaeli Metropolitan Mayor Tahir Büyükakın.
