The tender for the purchase of 12 diesel locomotive sets financed by the European Development Bank EBRD and the European Investment Bank EIB was concluded in 2018. The railway vehicles produced under the tender were delivered to the Moldovan railways operated by Calea Ferată din Moldova (CFM).
Delivered to the capital Chisinau, 12 diesel locomotives are designed and manufactured as a modern and energy-friendly GE Transportation.
Moldovan President Igor Dodon said that the new vehicles delivered will make Moldova railways more functional and that these 12 locomotives will contribute greatly to the economy.

276 of these diesel locomotives, which are Co-Co type, have been produced so far. The locomotives produced according to the 1520 cm rail span are purchased by the following countries, as they are specially designed for the Russian rail span:
- Kazakhstan
- Estonya
- Kyrgyzstan
- Moldova
- Rusya
- Tacikistan
- Ukrayna
- Turkmenistan
- Azerbaijan
