After the coronavirus epidemic, the countdown for the first giant budget tender started. The General Directorate of Highways affiliated to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure will bid on June 163 for the construction and operation of the 11-kilometer-long Aydın-Denizli Highway.

According to the news of Olcay Aydilek from Habertürk; “The process could not be completed because the conditions foreseen for the Aydın-Denizli highway project, which had been put out to tender twice before, were not met. A new tender will be held for the project on Thursday, June 11th. The project, with a size of 650-700 million euros, will be implemented by the build-operate-transfer (BOT) method. The project consists of 140 kilometers of highways and 23 kilometers of connection roads. Following the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Ankara-Niğde highway, the tolls will be determined in euros instead of dollars in the Aydın-Denizli tender. Domestic and foreign companies show interest in the project. It is stated that Chinese companies are following the project much more closely.

EURO PERIOD IN THE PASSAGE GUARANTEE

The General Directorate of Highways, Yavuz Sultan Selim, implemented with the BOT method, has guaranteed a vehicle pass through "dollars" on the bridges and highways of Northern Marmara, Osmangazi and Istanbul-Izmir. The dollar has increased rapidly. The government's burden on the payment of guarantees has become heavy.

Recently, euro is preferred to new projects instead of dollars. Following the Ankara-Niğde highway, the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, the vehicle-pass guarantee payments in the Aydın-Denizli project will also be calculated in euros. In this context, it is expected that the tenders of other projects that will be on the agenda in the following days will be made in euro.
