During the normalization phase of the fight against coronavirus, IMM drew social distance rings for everyone who visited the parks to remember and protect the social distance rules.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) is preparing the parks of Istanbul for the new era of the fight against coronavirus, whose spreading rate has decreased but still poses a risk. The parks visited by thousands of Istanbul residents for the summer months when the normalization calendar is put into practice are organized by IMM according to social distance. İBB Park Garden and Green Areas Department draws circles in the green areas on the Anatolian and European sides with a diameter of 1,8 meters at least 2,4 meters apart. With the circles determined according to the capacity of the parks, it is aimed to prevent high mobility and the number of visitors. In the lines, materials that do not harm the grass are used. As the grass grows, the lines are planned to be repainted.

Social distance rings started to be implemented in parks on both sides of the city in order to provide isolation, which is the most effective method against global pandemic. On the Anatolian side; Üsküdar, Kadıköy, Maltepe, Kartal, Pendik on the European side with its seaside parks; Lines indicating the social distance seating arrangement were added to Florya Social Facilities, Küçükçekmece Beach Park, Haliç İTO Park, Maçka and Bebek parks. The study will continue to be applied in the green areas that are used extensively in order to maintain the isolation and not to loosen the rules.
