Izmir Metropolitan Municipality accelerated road renewal and maintenance works during the corona days. In this process, metropolitan teams renewed the city's roads using approximately 418 thousand tons of asphalt and 200 thousand square meters of parquet coating material.
Within the framework of coronavirus measures, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has accelerated the renovation and maintenance works on the roads, the density of which has decreased. Between 1 March and 19 May, 200 thousand square meters of area was covered with parquet and 418 thousand tons of asphalt was poured by the İZBETON General Directorate teams.
4 575 points were intervened
The teams intervened with damaged asphalt spots at 4 thousand 757 points throughout the city, especially the main arteries. The infrastructure excavations were covered by asphalt on a total area of 79 thousand 594 square meters. 55 asphalt patches and paver pavers used a total of 419 thousand tons of hot asphalt to complete these works.
200 square meter area covered with parquet
Since the beginning of March, work has also been carried out on the city's paving roads and sidewalks. In this process, 29 projects were completed. The work of 18 projects is ongoing. Parquet repairs were made with 19 teams and approximately 200 thousand square meters of area was covered with parquet.
Maximum precaution for the health of workers and society
The teams continue their work despite the warm weather, paying attention to safe distance and hygiene conditions in many points of the city. Teams are provided with trainings by occupational safety specialists, workplace physicians and nurses to protect against virus. For their safety, protective equipment support is provided without interruption.
