The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure purchased 176 metro vehicles from China for the Istanbul Airport metro. Delivery of all metro vehicles will be completed by the end of 2022.
The result of the tender of "Istanbul New Airport Metro Line 26 Metro Vehicles Supply and Commissioning Work" by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments, on 2019 December 176, was announced. The Chinese tender CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., which is the only valid bidder, is awarded the tender. Ltd. Representation in Turkey has claimed 1 billion 545 million 280 thousand TL.
According to the tender specifications, delivery of 176 vehicles will be completed in 32 months. Delivery of the first 10 train sets will be completed in 11 months according to the conditions of early delivery. The first delivery will start with 2 sets of trains. In the 10th month, 4 more train sets will be delivered and the remaining 11 train sets will be delivered by the end of the 4th month. Delivery of 25 train sets will be completed in 32 months. Provided by CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive, the delivery location and production conditions of the 26th train set and some of the vehicles will be changed by the Ministry of Transport.
The contractor will complete the delivery, installation and commissioning of all maintenance and repair equipment at the 23rd month at the latest. The work will expire on December 28, 2022.
