Istanbul started to receive immigration intensely in the 1960s. Thereupon, trolleybus lines began to spread all over the city. The first line for the Trolleybus line, which was first established in Istanbul in 1961, was laid on the Topkapı Eminönü line. It was produced by the Italian company Ansaldo San Giorgia for trolleybuses, thereby creating a trolleybus fleet of 100 in Istanbul over the years.

The trolleybus purchased from France in 1955 but discontinued from the service was not suitable for public transport. It was turned into a trolleybus in 1968 as a result of the efforts of a few personnel of IETT and their superior efforts, and it was named "Tosun" because it was plump.

The first domestic trolleybus "Tosun" started service at gate 1968 at the end of 101 and served almost all trolleybus lines of IETT in Istanbul for 16 years.

Trolleybuses, which frequently stayed on the roads due to power outages and whose costs increased by disrupting the voyages, were dismissed on July 16, 1984 on the grounds that they prevent traffic and were taken to the IETT scrap car park in Yedikule Gazhane and later sold to the ESHOT General Directorate of Izmir Municipality.

In order to revive Tosun, which has an important place in its history reaching 143 years, and the memories it carries, today's IETT administration has been reshaped in Ikitelli ateliers in the hands of IETT masters in the hands of IETT masters in the last months of 2013. It was.

Thus, Tosun, just like the nostalgic tram, was made ready for expedition in 2013 and after 45 years.

Manufactured under the consultancy of Akın Kurtoğlu and Mustafa Noyan, working in the field of transportation history, Tosun now operates nostalgic expeditions by operating motorized on the Edirnekapı-Taksim line with the number 87.
