The citizen will try to make the voice heard by protesting that the Historic Derbent Train Station will not be operational.

The Historic Derbent Train Station in Kartepe was closed by the General Directorate of State Railways Management between 2-18 May 2019, within the scope of the signaling project under construction between Köseköy and Pamukova. The General Directorate of Railways had said that the station would be opened towards the end of May and then postponed to October. However, the train station could not be opened in the past 9 months.

The historical station, which started to serve since the 1800s, was closed in 2014 due to YHT works and could not serve. The station, which started operating again after the completion of the High Speed Train (YHT) project, was closed for 16 days for signaling work and improvement, but it could not be opened. Derbent neighborhood headman, Erdal Baş, will try to make their voices heard by protesting in front of the train station at 14:00 tomorrow, together with the residents of the neighborhood and non-governmental organizations. – Kocaeli Barış Newspaper
