Urban Rail System Projects; The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has increased its support to local administrations in order to spread the urban rail systems in our country.
2013 was transferred to the Red Crescent-Çayyolu and Batıkent-Sincan operations in Ankara. Tandoğan-Keçiören metro line was completed on 05.01.2017 and opened for service. Çayyolu Warehouse Site in Ankara was completed on 31.12.2017 and transferred to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. In addition, the construction of the AKM-Gar-Kızılay Metro, which will connect the Keçiören Subway to the 15 July Kızılay Square without interruption, has begun.
Levent-Hisarüstü line was opened at the end of 2015 in Istanbul. Antalya Square-Airport-Expo tramway project was realized with the opening of Expo. Bakırköy (İDO) -Bahçelievler-Kirazlı Metro, Sabiha Gökçen Airport Connection Metro, Gayrettepe-Yeni Airport and Yeni Airport-Halkalı Construction of Rail System Connections projects has started. Konya Rail System Line project and tender has been completed. Erzincan and Erzurum Tram Line projects are carried out by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
Within the framework of the policy of linking airports and urban transportation systems, Istanbul 3. The airport, Sabiha Gökçen, Antalya and Esenboğa Airports are working to establish connections with the city rail systems.
Başkentray was put into service in Ankara in order to improve urban rail transportation. The construction of Gaziray projects in Gaziantep continues. It is planned that Egeray will be extended to Bergama in the north and similar projects will be started in metropolitan cities such as Kayseri, Adana, Antalya and Balıkesir.
