Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Project Transportation İmar İnşaat Yat. Singing. ve Tic. Inc. (SAMULAŞ), the 29 kilometer light rail line between Ondokuz Mayıs University and Tekkeköy has started to operate as of today (5 July Friday).
A further 7 stops have been added to the tram line that started to carry passengers in the OMU Kurupelit Campus section of the light rail system, which has been continuing test drives for a while. Thus, with the 3rd stage of the tram, the total length of the rail system reached 35 kilometers and the number of stops reached 43.

Nineteen May University rail system line is 6 kilometers long and consists of 7 stops. The stations within the OMU line were named as Housing, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Health Sciences, Life Center, Education Faculty and Dormitories.
