Works are being carried out on 17 different rail system lines including metro, tram and funicular all over Istanbul. Of these lines with a total length of 221,7 kilometers, 13 is constructed by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and 4 by Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. According to the data of International Public Transport Association (UITP), Istanbul ranks first in the world in the ranking of cities where the most rail system lines are constructed at the same time. When the lines under construction are completed, the rail system line length in Istanbul will increase by 2 times and will increase to 454 kilometers. Istanbul, the metro will reach everywhere.

Until the year of 1994 in Istanbul, the total length of the rail system was 28,05 kilometers. In the last 25 year, with the vision and service concept gained to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the total length of the rail system line has been increased to 233,05 kilometers. At the same time, 17 works on different lines throughout the city in order to expand the rail system lines that serve millions of Istanbulites every day.

THE MOST RAILWAY SYSTEM PROJECT IN CONSTRUCTION
International Public Transport Association (UITP), which is one of the most distinguished organizations of the public transport sector in the world, closely follows and records all the works related to public transport worldwide. According to UITP's data, rail system lines under construction worldwide were examined. According to this, Istanbul, where 17 different rail system construction continues, is ranked first in the world in the “Cities where the maximum rail system construction continues at the same time”.

RAW SYSTEM LENGTH 2 FLOOR WILL INCREASE WHEN PROJECTS COMPLETED
Works are being carried out simultaneously on the 17 different rail system lines all over Istanbul. The lines with metro, tram and funicular systems have a total length of 221,7 kilometers. Of these lines, 13 is constructed by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and 4 is constructed by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. When the 233,05 kilometer rail system line in operation is considered, with the completion of the new projects, the length of the rail system will increase by approximately 2 times and reach 454 kilometers. Thus, faster, comfortable and uninterrupted public transportation to Istanbul residents will be provided.

2 SEPARATE LINE WORK, TEST DRIVES STARTED
Construction, electrical-electromagnetic works and fine workmanship of Mahmutbey-Mecidiyeköy Metro Line, one of the ongoing projects, was completed. Vehicles are down on rails. This line will be Istanbul's second driverless subway and test drives have started. The line is planned to be opened to the service of Istanbul residents at the end of this year. Construction, electrical-electromagnetic works and fine workmanship of the Eminönü-Eyüpsultan-Alibeyköy Tram Line have been completed. Vehicles are down on rails.
