The Mayor of Elazığ Şahin Şerifoğulları stated that they prepared very important projects for safe, fast and sustainable transportation and emphasized that with the completion of the projects, the urban traffic problem will be minimized.
Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları, Director of Science Affairs Salim Turan, Survey and Project Manager Onur Turgut, Transportation Services Manager Cemil Apaydın and the municipal council members conducted some crossroads.
Emphasizing that they aim to minimize the traffic problem by implementing transportation projects, Mayor Şerifoğulları said, “Together with our unit managers, we made examinations in the area known as Akgün Junction in Bahçelievler District and in the Hamza Yanılmaz Junction located within the borders of Mustafapaşa District. I hope the traffic density in these regions will decrease significantly with the works we will do. Of course, our Elazig is piled in the city center. Since drivers coming from the east and west generally use the city center route, there is serious density on this route. We will analyze both the safety data and the requests from our citizens in the best way and implement the work we planned on these routes. The projects we will realize with the goal of safe, fast and sustainable transportation will also include public transportation, bicycle, private vehicle, pedestrians and the transportation of the disabled. Hopefully, we will realize all the projects we promise in transportation within 5 years and enable our citizens to drive more peacefully and comfortably ”.
