UTIKAD's Sustainability Journey Is An Example of Good Practice at FIATA

UTİKAD, the International Transport and Logistics Service Providers Association, has carried the Turkish logistics industry to the top again on the international platform. UTİKAD, which embodied its works within the framework of sustainability concept with the “Sustainable Logistics Certificate” organized in Istanbul in 2014 and whose main theme is “Sustainable Growth in Logistics”, which was prepared within the scope of FIATA World Congress and presented to the logistics sector worldwide, UTİKAD The Responsibility Notification Report also attracted attention with 2017-2019.

Following the review of the report published in Turkish and English by UTİKAD, FIATA evaluated the benefits of sharing the sustainability studies carried out by UTİKAD with the international actors of the sector. In this regard, UTİKAD General Manager Cavit Uğur was invited to FIATA Headquarters held in Zurich between 27-30 March 2019 to present his association's work as a Good Practice Example.

All works carried out by UTİKAD in 2013 years after receiving the “Green Office Certificate” in 6 were gathered under the title of “UTIKAD's Corporate Social Responsibility Projects: A Sustainable Journey of Sustainability”.

The sustainability efforts presented by UTİKAD General Manager Cavit Uğur on Thursday, 28 attracted great attention by international representatives of the logistics sector. UTIKAD, with initiatives to promote equality and labor in business and social life, such as the United Nations Global Compact and the Equal Women's Certificate, as well as initiatives to highlight environmental awareness, such as the Green Office Certificate, the World Clock App and the Low Carbon Hero Award, received the admiration of its stakeholders.

CAVİT UĞUR, NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE FIATA SUSTAINABLE LOGISTICS WORKING GROUP

The International Transport and Logistics Service Providers Association accomplished another success in addition to the 'best practice example' presentation at FIATA Central Meetings. UTİKAD General Manager Cavit Uğur was selected as the Sustainable Logistics Working Group Presidency established within FIATA in the past years with the contribution of UTİKAD. Uğur said, “It is a source of pride for us to carry our successful practices in the Turkish logistics industry to international platforms and to set an example. We have always believed that a sustainable world, sustainable economies, sustainable business ways exist, and that they are applicable both in our country and around the world, and we have always continued and will continue our work in this direction. Because there is no other planet we can live with, ”he said.

Cavit Uğur will take over the FIATA Sustainable Logistics Working Group Presidency at the 1 FIATA World Congress, to be held in Cape Town, South Africa on October 5-2019, 2019.
