50 Percent Discount on Public Transportation in Izmir

In the last session of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Council, the annual report of 2018 of the municipality was discussed. Despite the positive votes of the CHP and GOOD Party, the report was passed by Parliament with the rejection votes of AK Party and MHP Assembly members. 50 discount at certain hours of transportation to the decision, the parliament has received approval.

In the Parliament, the Activity Report of the Metropolitan Municipality for 2018 was discussed. Speaking of the report, the CHP Group SözcüSü Nilay Kökkılınç stated that if the last 15-year period is taken into consideration, they saw that the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has continued its investments despite the serious economic problems in the country. Stating that in environmental investments, İzmir reduced the carbon emission to the atmosphere by 2020 percent until 20, Kökkılıç said, “The investment in the rail system reduces our carbon footprint. An environmentally friendly and comfortable system has been established in the transportation area. Works for the Narlıdere subway have started, and we expect ministerial approval for the Buca subway. Our sea transportation network has grown, 11 piers have been reached. In the coming period, transportation will be our priority. ”

MHP Group Deputy Selahattin Şahin thanked those who prepared the report and said, “İzmir needs more investments and services. Traffic is a serious problem. I live in Gaziemir. Gaziemir is not entered. Road projects are said to be done, not done. In the new period, problems should be done according to priority. Urban transformation started, but how far it started.
