Alstom's Coradia iLint is on tour in Germany from late January to mid-February 2019. The hydrogen fuel cell train is the first of its kind in the world. Alstom will introduce ready-to-use hydrogen technology in six federal states and an emission-free alternative for power lines. The Roadshow will start in Rheinland-Pfalz and continue in Baden-Württemberg, Saxony, Thüringen, Berlin and Brandenburg.

Since September 2018, Alstom's first two hydrogen trains have been carrying regular passengers on the Elbe-Weser network. From 2021, Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen (LNVG) will use 14 eco-friendly fuel cell Coradia iLints trains between Cuxhaven, Bremerhaven, Bremervörde and Buxtehude to transport passengers.
Coradia iLint is the world's first passenger train operating with a hydrogen fuel cell that produces electrical power for traction. This fully emission-free train is quiet and only emits water vapor and condensate. The Coradia iLint also incorporates several innovations: clean energy conversion, flexible energy storage in batteries and intelligent power management, and the available energy. Produced specifically for use on non-electric lines, it provides clean and sustainable traction while maintaining high performance.
