M5 Üsküdar-Çekmeköy metro line, which is the first and still the only driverless metro line of our country and Istanbul, has reached the age of 1. The line, which was opened between Üsküdar and Yamanevler stations with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and State Authority on December 15, 2017, achieved a success by carrying more than 2 million passengers in the 10-month period until the opening of the 20nd stage Yamanevler-Çekmeköy connection.
With the opening of Çekmeköy connection, it is seen that the line, which has a double increase in the number of passengers per day, will contribute to the increase of public transportation preference in the region where it serves and indirectly decreases the road traffic.
