Maintenance and repair work begins on the defective escalators and elevators of the metrobus line in Istanbul on November 1. IETT's maintenance and repair tender, which was previously attached to the GCC, was held again in September and a contract was signed for 2 million 265 thousand liras in the past days. On the other hand, the rate of frequent malfunctions in the escalators, moving walkways and elevators reaching the metro stations, which is one of the most complained issues used by millions of passengers and the people of Istanbul, was left to another spring.

SözcüAccording to the report of Özlem Güvemli from IETT, the tender for the maintenance and repair of 55 elevators and 27 escalators on the IETT metrobus line was launched on February 14, 2018. Kone Elevator, the owner of the bid of 18 million 8 thousand 500 TL, won the tender, which was announced as 654 million 2 thousand 627 TL for the tender held for maintenance, service and repair service for 686 months. However, the tender was complained to the Public Procurement Board (KİK) and it was claimed that it was not possible to do the work subject to the tender with 2 million 627 thousand 686 TL. The KİK also determined practices against the legislation in the tender and excluded the winning company from the tender.

COST AND DURATION DROPED
IETT then went out to tender for the same job on September 19, 2018. The duration and approximate cost of the work were changed in the tender. The duration of the work has been determined as 11 months, and the approximate cost is 2 million 349 thousand 968 liras. Kone Elevator won the tender again. A contract was signed with Kone Elevator on 15 October 2018 for 2 million 265 thousand 516 TL.
