Cable Car Works Are Gaining Speed in Hatay

Hatay Metropolitan Municipality is working with the strength to transfer the riches and values carried by Hatay from past to present to future generations and to increase its recognition by bringing the city together with the services it deserves.

With the approval of the projects of the lower and upper stations of the Cable Car Project, which is of high importance by the HBB, by the Adana Regional Board for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, implementation works were started in the sub-station area. Evaluation of the archaeological remains in the project area together with the ropeway line gave the project a different concept.

The Teleferic Project is of special importance as it serves as a bridge to which historical sites of different periods are combined. Completion of the Teleferic Project will be an important step towards becoming a brand city of Hatay and will provide a positive contribution to the city's tourism potential.

The sub-station area, which is the starting point between Antakya and Habibi Neccar Mountain, is located at the end point of Selçuk Caddesi, south of Şeyh Ali Mosque; The upper station area is located on Habib-i Neccar Mountain, south of the ruins of Antakya Castle. The first operations related to the project continued in 2012 with the drilling works in the sub-station area and the archaeological excavations in the light of the ruins found afterwards.
