The Joy of Collective Bargaining at BURULAŞ

Collective bargaining negotiations covering 460 personnel working in Bursa Metropolitan Municipality companies BURULAŞ resulted in a compromise. According to the agreement signed between BURULAŞ and the Railway Workers Union, employee salaries rose by 6 percent in the first 16.74 months.

The collective bargaining negotiations between BURULAŞ, one of the most important affiliates of the Metropolitan Municipality, and the Railway Workers Union, were completed with the decisions taken in favor of the personnel. A signing ceremony was held at the Metropolitan Municipality, with 383 in-scope and 77 out-of-scope meetings, with a total of 460 personnel. According to the agreement between May 1, 2018 and April 30, 2020, 6 percent for the first 16.74 months, CPI rate for the second 6 months, CPI plus 6 for the third 1 months, CPI plus 6 for the fourth 1 months.

Target: Smiling face, sweet language and timely service

Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that they believed that the right of the worker should be paid before drying the sweat. Stating that they have renewed contracts within the scope of mutual agreement with the employees at certain periods, Mayor Alinur Aktaş expressed his pleasure in reaching a compromise in the negotiations between BURULAŞ, one of the most powerful and important companies of the Metropolitan Municipality, and Türk-İş's Railway Workers Union. Mayor Aktaş thanked the representatives of the union who acted constructively in the process of the agreement and the BURULAŞ executives, expressed their expectations regarding transportation as an institution. Underlining that the biggest problem of all developing cities is transportation, Mayor Aktaş said, “Transportation is one of the most talked about issues in Bursa with its population reaching 3 million. We work together to raise standards and improve quality. We know that providing quality service on time, language of taste and timely is as important as other items. We want to encourage public transportation by ensuring citizen satisfaction. We also want our employees in this field to perform the services in a quality and healthy manner. We expect our employees to show special attention, care and attention so that people can enjoy public transportation more. May the contract be beneficial to our employees, the union and our institution. ”

Local people will get more beautiful transportation service

Turkish Labor dependent Railway Workers' Union Branch President Cemal Yaman media as it passes through a difficult process of Turkey stated that they did a nice contract. Emphasizing that transportation is the sine qua non of people, Yaman said that they have signed 8 contracts so far and ended all contracts to satisfy union members. Stating that after 6 sessions, Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş gave them what they wanted, Yaman stated that he believes that the people of Bursa will receive a better transportation service in the coming days. Yaman thanked President Alinur Aktaş, BURULAŞ General Manager Mehmet Kürşat Çapar and all other employees.

After the speeches, a collective agreement was signed between President Aktaş and Cemal Yaman. At the end of the ceremony, Cemal Yaman gave President Aktaş a pocket watch, the symbol of the union.
